El gobernador de La Rioja indicó en un comunicado que “no va a haber otra actividad mientras la gente no esté de acuerdo” con la iniciativa
El gobernador de La Rioja, Luis Beder Herrera, anunció que el proyecto minero en el Famatina se demorará ”el tiempo que sea necesario” a fin de “explicar” sus alcances a la población, a la vez que garantizó que “no va a haber otra actividad mientras la gente no esté de acuerdo” con el proyecto.
Beder Herrera lamentó que los riojanos sean “como el hijo vago de la Nación”porque la administración central “tiene que estar permanentemente mandando plata” a la provincia, al justificar su política minera, con la que intenta superar esta situación.
En un comunicado de prensa, Herrera dijo que el proyecto de exploración del Famatina por parte de la empresa canadiense Osisko, que debió comenzar el pasado 16 de enero, se demorará “el tiempo que sea necesario” para “explicar” a la población las implicancias del emprendimiento. “No va a haber otra actividad mientras la gente no esté de acuerdo”, afirmó.
El gobernador se pronunció así horas después de que diez mil personas marcharan ayer frente a la Casa de Gobierno para exigirle que anule ese contrato y abandone su política megaminera metalífera y uranífera “o se vaya”.
En el comunicado de prensa, Beder Herrera reiteró su mensaje de tranquilidad a la población respecto de las consecuencias de la minería y anunció el inicio de una etapa de información e instrucción respecto a la actividad. “Tenemos que encontrar nuestro destino como lo hicieron el resto de las provincias”,
Explicó que en el Famatina la intención es “hacer un trabajo con el que es imposible que se contamine porque consiste en la exploración, que son la toma de muestras, es una tarea que dura varios años”, afirmó.
“Hemos visto en las redes sociales donde la gente se expresa que se han instalado multimedios muy poderosos en La Rioja que están trabajando con toda la oposición. Tienen derecho porque de eso se trata la democracia“, afirmó.
Por eso llamó a los riojanos a ”defendernos entre nosotros mismos”, dijo, y sostuvo que el gobierno está “para informar y clarificar” si es que “hay confusión y falta de conocimiento en el riojano medio”.
El Gobernador ratificó que el Estado provincial brinda “todas las garantías” de que será una actividad no contaminante.
“Cómo van a pensar que como gobierno se explotaría un recurso poniendo en riesgo el agua y la salud de la población” se preguntó y se comprometió a explicar la iniciativa “el tiempo que sea necesario”.
